August “Art in the Library” Exhibit
The Boulder Junction Public Library welcomes the public to view their August “Art in the Library” exhibit featuring the Lakeland Art League Member Exhibit. Their artwork will be on display throughout the library during regular business hours.
The Lakeland Art League Member’s Exhibit showcases member artists of varying levels of expertise and a mix of different mediums. Mindy Schnell, a well-known artist from the Boulder Junction area, will be judging. Monetary awards will be given to first, second and third place. There will also be two honorable mentions and a people’s choice award which will be picked at the Artists’ Reception on Friday, August 12 from 4-5:30 pm. The reception is free and open to all and provides the public with the opportunity to view the artwork on display and meet many of the artists. Light refreshments will be served.
The Lakeland Art League (LAL) is a social organization promoting the visual arts in the lakes area of North Central Wisconsin offering educational programs, workshops, scholarships, and art events. LAL arranges full and multi-day workshops from April until October. Most are free to members, and all are open to the public for a small fee. They meet monthly to plan and socialize, sharing their ideas and their art. A scholarship is awarded to a rising student of the arts at Nicolet College. Other activities of interest in which members can participate are sponsored art exhibits, exhibit openings, venues for sales opportunities and field trips to various art related events.
