Author Annelise Ryan
August 15, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Boulder Junction Public Library presents Wisconsin author, Annelise Ryan, on Thursday, August 15, 7 pm, at the Boulder Junction Community Center.
Annelise Ryan is a pseudonym for the author of the new Monster Hunter Mystery series, featuring bookstore owner and cryptozoologist, Morgan Carter, and her rescue dog, Newt. The first two books in the series, A Death in Door County and Death in the Dark Woods, are available now. The third book, Beast of the North Woods, comes out in January of 2025.
Annelise also penned the rib-tickling 12-book Mattie Winston Mystery series featuring the adventures of a wryly cynical nurse-turned-coroner in a small Wisconsin town and the spin-off, Helping Hands Mysteries.
As Allyson K. Abbott, she authored a 6-book series known as the Mack’s Bar Mysteries. This series is set in Milwaukee and features Mackenzie “Mack” Dalton. She has a neurological disorder called synesthesia that causes her senses to be cross wired and extra sensitive. As a result, she typically experiences every “normal” sense in one other abnormal way. She may taste sounds, or see smells. It’s something she spends her life hiding until murder comes knocking on the door of the bar she inherited from her father. Now her disability is a useful ability that helps her to solve crimes. But it comes with a price.
And as Beth Amos, she has written more than 200 published articles, worked as a book reviewer for Barnes & Noble, and written five thrillers, three of which were published by HarperCollins in the late ’90s. She is an active member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and International Thriller Writers. She is a registered nurse whose past work experience has included everything from birth (obstetrics) to death (hospice). She recently retired after spending her last 20 years working in the ER and she is now enjoying several side hobbies, including competitive Scrabble, working with stained glass, and gardening.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For questions and further information, please call the library at 715-385-2050 or email [email protected].
