Humanitarian Work in Ukraine

The library presents “Humanitarian Work in Ukraine” with Saxon, WI resident, Shane Wyzlic, on Tuesday, August 16, at the Boulder Junction Community Center. Shane has traveled to Poland and Ukraine twice to bring needed supplies, which included medical supplies and body armor, and to aid refugees following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
State Representative Beth Meyers (D-Bayfield) presented Shane with a commemorative citation during a recent reception at St. Mary’s Church in Hurley honoring Shane for his humanitarian aid for the country.
Shane graduated from Ironwood High School in 1983. He served eight years in the United States Navy and was deployed three times overseas. He currently lives in Saxon, Wisconsin and works for the Social Security Administration.
