The Boulder Junction Public Library will be offering an Intuitive Painting Class on Thursday, March 2 from 1pm to 4 pm. Participation is free, but registration is required, and class size is limited to 15 people. The class will be held in the Boulder Junction Community Center.

During Frances Whitfield’s class, students will alternate between applying cool and warm colors, allowing images to emerge. This is an exercise in freeing outcomes. It is a calming process which lends itself well to mindful self-care and indulgence. All materials are included in this class. No artistic talent is needed. Students will create two paintings. It is recommended that students wear a covering over their clothing to protect it from paint.

Local artist, Frances Whitfield, is a lifelong artist and creator who absorbs inspiration from the natural world around her. Her favorite mediums vacillate between colors and porcupine quills and everything in between. Whitfield is a former instructor at Nicolet College, North Lakeland Community Education, and School of the Arts.
