Northern Waters Genealogical Society Meeting
March 1 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The Northern Waters Genealogical Society invites you to their next meeting on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, 2-3 pm, at the Boulder Junction Community Center, 5392 Park Street. A business meeting will follow from 3-4 pm. There will also be an option to join the meeting via Zoom. Please call Carol Williams at 715-686-7339 for meeting information and to receive directions for the Zoom link.
This month’s program is “Getting Ready for the Release of the 1950 Census” with Presenter, Michael John Neill (via pre-recorded webinar). Genealogists have long awaited the release of the 1950 census which will take place in April. This will enable the family historian to fill in the gaps for families and descendants in their family trees. Using this census may be a challenge at first, as the form and information gathered differ from previous versions. In addition, it will not be indexed when first available. Join us for this presentation which will help prepare you for this event.
Michael John Neill has researched his own genealogy for over twenty-five years in numerous courthouse, archives, and libraries. He is an experienced researcher who has written how-to genealogy articles since 1985 and has given seminars and lectures since the mid 1990s. Michael leads an annual trip to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and has lead trips to the Allen County Public Library in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Michael usually restricts his recordings to individual use only, but has graciously given the Northern Waters Genealogical Society written permission to use it for one time viewing at our March meeting.
Attendees who prefer viewing remotely will be required to register in order to receive the zoom link. For more information call 715-686-7339.
This program is free and open to the public. All persons interested in genealogy and family history, from beginner to advanced, are welcome to attend. For more information, please call 715-686-7339.
This meeting will follow the latest Covid-19 safety protocols for the Library and Community Center.
