Northern Waters Genealogical Society Meeting

The Northern Waters Genealogical Society invites you to their next meeting on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, 2-3 pm, at the Boulder Junction Community Center, 5392 Park Street. A short business meeting will follow the presentation.
This month’s program is “Beginning Ukrainian Genealogy” with speaker Michelle Tucker Chubenko, who will be presenting virtually on Zoom. Michelle will be describing the methodology, resources, and history useful to the genealogists researching their Ukrainian roots.
Chubenko is a professional Genealogist with over 27 years of experience in researching families in New Jersey, Maryland, southwest Virginia, and Oklahoma/Indian Territory, as well as countries in Europe including Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Poland, Austria, and Germany.
Chubenko was a researcher on TLC’s Who Do You Think You Are? She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, local and ethnic genealogical societies, and is active in local history organizations. In 2013, she became the co-coordinator for the Ukrainian Historical & Educational Center’s Nashi Predky Family History Group and has served as a Commissioner on the Middlesex County Heritage & Cultural Commission since 2011.
Chubenko has also served as a Trustee of the Genealogical Society of New Jersey, Education Chairperson for the Monmouth County Genealogy Society, and is a founding member of the New Jersey Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
