OurStory: Tales of the Voyageurs

September 26 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Boulder Junction Public Library and Boulder Junction Area Historical Society are partnering to present OurStory: a Monthly History Series. Programs will share “OurStory” – highlighting a local history topic or area of interest that helps us remember the past, understand how it impacts our present, and preserve these memories for the future.

The fifth program in the series will be held on Thursday, September 26 at 7pm at the Boulder Junction Community Center. Learn about the tales of the voyageurs with local historian, Tom Brehmer. Step back in time for a visit with Pierre, the last voyageur. History is a story and the fur trade was the story of almost 200 years of Wisconsin history. Long before there were mountain men and cowboys, there were voyageurs when Wisconsin was the wild west.

Tom Brehmer is a retired ice cream maker, with a passion for history. He’s been an interpreter at Historic Point Basse, a living history center near Nekoosa, Wisconsin, for 38 years. Tom has also been a summer resident of Boulder Junction for 9 years.

This free program is sponsored by the Boulder Junction Public Library and the Boulder Junction Area Historical Society. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call the library at 715-385-2050.
