“Shakin’ Down the Acorns”

August 29 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Boulder Junction Pubic Library presents “Shakin’ Down the Acorns” with Joe and Paula on Thursday, August 29, 7:00 pm, at the Boulder Junction Community Center.

Joe and Paula McHugh are the Time Travelers. Drawing upon a rich treasure trove of American and Celtic folklore and music, they weave humorous yarns, tall tales, poetic recitation, and perhaps even a classic ghost story together with lively fiddle and banjo duets, a pair of dancing clog dolls, a melody on a “courting” dulcimer, and a demonstration of “fiddle sticks.” From start to finish “Shakin’ Down the Acorns” calls forth laughter, quickens the pulse, and kindles the imagination.

Joe McHugh is a fiddler and storyteller whose mastery of the spoken word and infectious sense of humor hearken back to the likes of Mark Twain and Will Rogers. Paula McHugh is a gifted visual artist and musician whose paintings are inspired by the titles of American folk songs.

Joe and Paula live in Olympia, Washington, but they travel each summer to their family’s vacation cabin near Star Lake. For more information about the Time Travelers and their programs, visit their website at https://timetravelersmusic.com/.
This program is free and open to all. Refreshments will be served. For more information, please call the library at 715-385-2050.
