Ten Places to Search for an Ancestor’s Death Date without a Death Certificate
March 5 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The Northern Waters Genealogical Society invites you to their next meeting on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, 2-3 pm, at the Boulder Junction Community Center, 5392 Park Street with a Zoom option available. A brief business meeting will follow.
This month’s program is “Ten Places to Search for an Ancestor’s Death Date without a Death Certificate” featuring speaker, Elizabeth Swanay O’Neal, via Zoom. Not every ancestor left a death certificate, even after death registrations were required by the states. But don’t give up hope. You may be able to find an ancestor’s death date using these ten great resources.
In addition to more than 35 years of research experience, Elizabeth’s training and education include advanced courses at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy in Salt Lake City, Utah; the National Institute for Genealogical Research (now GenFed) in Washington, D.C.; the Forensic Genealogy Institute in Dallas, Texas; and she was in Group 2 of the 18-month ProGen Study Group. She has also attended numerous national and regional genealogy conferences.
Elizabeth’s speaking experience includes numerous virtual and in-person lectures for organizations such as Legacy Family Tree Webinars, RootsTech, the Federation of Genealogical Societies, the Utah Genealogical Association, and many others. Her professional memberships include the Association of Professional Genealogists, the Genealogical Speakers Guild, the National Genealogical Society, and she is an active member of the public speaking club Toastmasters International.
Elizabeth currently serves as President of the Southern California Chapter Association of Professional Genealogists; President of the Second Life Virtual Genealogical Society; Education & Programs Director for the Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society; Vice President of the GeneaBloggers Organization; Director of the NGSQ Study Groups; and she is a Genealogy Consultant for the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information or to register for a Zoom option, please call 715-686-7339.
