Winter Wellness – Cancer Clear & Simple

Looking for ways to stick to your New Year’s Resolutions? The Boulder Junction Public Library is presenting a series of FREE informational presentations to help patrons learn ways to support their health and wellness this winter -and all year long. All programs are held on Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 pm in the Boulder Lake Room at the Community Center.
March 19 – “Cancer Clear and Simple” with Sara Richie, Health & Well-being Extension Educator at the Vilas, Oneida, Forest County UW-Extension.
Sara will go over cancer basics and risk factors, such as how cancer forms in the body and healthy habits to prevent cancer. She will also discuss prevention and self-care and screening and early detection. Participants will also learn how healthy eating and exercise are preventative measures.
Sara Richie is the Health & Well-being Educator for the UW-Madison Division of Extension in Oneida, Vilas and Forest Counties. Sara received her Bachelor degree in Family Living Education from UW-Stevens Point and a Master degree in Community Health Education from UW-La Crosse. Sara has experience facilitating health promotion programs, policy development and coalition building. Her and her family moved to the Northwoods 4 years ago and love spending time outdoors biking, hiking, snowshoeing and camping.
All attendees will be entered into a drawing for a door prize at each presentation. Refreshments will be served.
