February Art in the Library

The library welcomes the public to view their February “Art in the Library” exhibit featuring Ondracek Family Art. Their artwork will be on display throughout the library during regular business hours.

The exhibit will include a variety of pieces from the Ondracek Family. Lee Ann will have embroidery work from high school through the embroidery on her wedding gown which she handmade and a Batik of flowers. Karen’s artwork includes paintings and an advertisement that used the necktie she designed for the Jerry Garcia Company while she worked there. Amy has a variety of ceramic wall hangings and some other paintings she has done. Scott’s work includes the patch he designed for the 2002 World Musky Championship while at North Lakeland Elementary School in 8th Grade and other works of art.

Karen Rose Ondracek grew up in Boulder Junction and attended North Lakeland Elementary School and Lakeland Union High School – both schools had art teachers that were continuing their own art, as well as teaching the students. Karen attended The Rhode Island School of Design which led to employment at several well-known businesses. Her work with Jerry Garcia Ties led to one of her designs to be featured in a Father’s Day ad they published. She has worked at several other businesses doing design work. She lives in Kansas and is  working on a Masters Degree so she can teach college-level art.

Amy Lee Ondracek also grew up in Boulder Junction and attended North Lakeland Elementary School and Lakeland Union High School. While she created a lot of artwork while in high school, she did not pursue a career in that field. She lives in Chicago and works in banking.

Scott Ondracek also grew up in Boulder Junction and attended North Lakeland Elementary School and Lakeland Union High School. He loved art classes at both schools but did not pursue a career in the field. He lives in Louisville, Kentucky and researches natural food flavoring and dyes.
