January Art in the Library Exhibit

The library welcomes the public to view their January “Art in the Library” exhibit. The Library selected the Boys to Christian Men ministry of the Community Church of Boulder Junction.  Their photography will be on display in the Reading Room during regular library hours.

The Boys to Christian Men program engages male youth in grades 4 and up in weekly and special event programming. Activities provide hands-on learning experiences from local experts while teaching Biblical values such as integrity, honesty, and teamwork.

The photography images on display are the culmination of a learning series on photography.  Participants took photographs from two locations in Boulder Junction: Big Bear Hideaway and along the Manitowish River at the junction of “H” and “K”.  The boys then selected two of their favorites and digitally enhanced the image.  The resulting modified images and an explanation of the impact the experience had on these young men are on display through the month of January.

The Boys to Christian Men program meets on most Wednesdays after school at Community Church of Boulder Junction. Local artisans are also encouraged to share their particular craft/expertise with this younger generation. Contact the church for more details at 715-385-2146.

Also on display during January is a painting from local artist, Tim Black, and a quilt from local artist, Glennes Youngbauer.
