Library Returns to Curbside Only Service

With the increase in COVID-19 cases in the area, Governor Ever’s Executive Order #94, and genuine concern for our community, the Boulder Junction Public Library will be going to curbside service only beginning Monday, November 16, 2020 until further notice. The library will offer contactless curbside service on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 am to 2 pm; and Tuesday and Thursday from 2 pm to 6 pm. The library will be closed and will not be able to accept donations until further notice.

The Boulder Junction Public Library is committed to providing patrons access to online resources and safe access to physical materials – with safety to both patrons and staff the utmost concern. In addition to curbside pickup of materials, the library offers many items electronically. Downloadable e-books and audiobooks are available through the Wisconsin Public Library Consortium via Libby and Overdrive, Badgerlink provides multiple reference resources, and the library’s WiFi is on 24 hours per day and accessible outside the library.

To order materials for pickup, patrons can use the online catalog, https://merlin.nwls.lib.wi.us. Or patrons can call the library at 715-385-2050 or 715-513-9345 and staff will place the holds. Or patrons can email [email protected] to order materials. Patrons will still be able to borrow items from other libraries.

A detailed process will be followed for curbside pickup in order to maintain social distancing between patrons and staff. When a patron’s order is ready, a staff member will call to arrange a pickup time. Pickups will be staggered at 5-minute increments and patrons must pick up holds at the designated pickup time.

To support social distancing efforts and minimize exposure, the library is operating with very limited staff. Staff will fill holds as quickly as physically possible. Please place your requests, at the latest, the day before pickup to give library staff time to fulfill your request and arrange pickup.
