Mobile Hotspots Available for Checkout!
The Boulder Junction Public Library has received two mobile hotspots from the Northern Waters Library System using funding from the federal Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF). The library will be lending the hotspots out to patrons 18 years and older who have a Boulder Junction Public Library card in good standing. Any ECF supported equipment and services can only be provided to patrons who declare they do not have access to the equipment or services sufficient to access the internet.
A mobile hotspot is a small device that creates a wireless internet network that allows library cardholders to easily get online anywhere there is a Verizon signal. Users simply turn on the hotspot and connect a WiFi-enabled device such as a phone, tablet, or laptop.
Hotspots can be checked out for a 7-day period with only one hotspot per person and per household. Reservations are accepted on a first come, first served basis, and can be made by phone, email, or in person. Hotspots cannot be put on hold through the library catalog.
Patrons must sign the library’s Hotspot Lending Agreement before a hotspot can be checked out and a library card and state-issued photo ID must be presented at checkout.
