Sip & Swipe Café

The Boulder Junction Public Library, in partnership with Generations on Line©, is offering a free Sip & Swipe Café tutorial program for anyone wanting to become more comfortable and confident using iPads and Android tablets to get online and explore the world wide web. Cafes will be held on Thursdays, May 26 and June 2 from 10:30 am to noon in the Boulder Junction Community Center Nordlof Conference Room.

At the Sip & Swipe Café, participants will be encouraged to “sip” (grab a coffee or other beverage) and “swipe” (the way we use our fingertips to operate a tablet). A friendly, knowledgeable, and patient coach will work with participants, provide support, and answer questions. The library provides the tablets to use during the classes; however, if participants have their own tablet, they’ll want to bring it.

The Sip & Swipe Café program will guide learners through a series of hands-on, interactive, step-by-step instructions. Those new to tablets will learn basic tablet skills such as tapping, swiping, and scrolling. Through a series of classes, all will learn tablet use such as email, the web, FaceTime, YouTube, texting, photographs, and other apps.

Registration will be required, and class size is limited. This free program is provided through a grant from Bader Philanthropies. For questions, please call the library at 715-385-2050.
