December and January Art in the Library
The Boulder Junction Public Library welcomes the public to view their December and January Art in the Library exhibit featuring Joanne Morgan. The artwork will be on display during regular library hours. Joanne’s work will be on display through the end of January.
Taking photos of wildlife has been Joanne Morgan’s passion. It allows her to be out on her kayak or walking in the woods enjoying all the natural beauty. Over the years, she has gravitated toward chickadees, swans, loons, and eagles and, in doing so, she has watched and learned so much about these birds.
With no formal training, Joanne has learned from trial and error, getting out often, and from belonging to the Lakeland Photographic Club. There she has found mentors and inspiration by watching how others utilize their camera and how they see the scenes differently. She has grown as a photographer just being around them.
Belong to the Lakeland Photographic Club has also allowed Joanne to display and sell her artwork at the Great Northern Coffee Shop, the Minocqua Public Library, the Campanile Center, and the North Lakeland Discovery Center. This will be the Arbor Vitae resident’s first exhibit at the Boulder Junction Public Library.
A few years ago, Joanne submitted a comical photo of a frog to Our Wisconsin magazine and won a pecan pie. Proof that hard work pays off!
Taking photos of wildlife has given Joanne a great appreciation of our world and how important it is to preserve nature, not only for the animals, but for ourselves as well.
