Animal Ingenuity: Discovering Life in Winter

Even when the world seems frozen and still, life is quietly unfolding beneath the snow. Bears give birth to tiny cubs in their winter dens, owls are already nesting, and frogs lie frozen in the leaf litter waiting for spring’s first thaw. From hibernation and migration to hidden births and bold survival strategies, winter plays a vital role in the life cycles of countless species – each finding its own way to keep life moving forward.
Join the Discovery Center to explore the amazing adaptations of wildlife during winter that help wildlife thrive all season long. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to join for this multi-generational program which includes hands-on activities and allows participants a closer look at the incredible ingenuity of animals in winter.
Earpieces for ease and comfort of listening during the program will be available for attendees with hearing impairments. Support for this program was provided through a grant from the Boulder Junction Community Foundation.
This is a free program and open to all. Registration is requested but not required. Call the library at 715-385-2050 to register or for more information.
