The Boulder Junction Public Library is sponsoring a session with the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Vilas County Elder Benefit Specialist on Monday, October 20, from 10am to Noon in the Boulder Junction Community Center Dairymen’s meeting room. Elder Benefit Specialist, Patrick Smothers, will be available to address questions regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and resources available to Vilas County seniors.

Government programs can be confusing and complex. The ADRC’s Elder Benefit Specialists are here to help clients better understand and navigate such programs as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Foodshare, and provide information on legal, housing and other options, as applicable. Elder Benefit Specialists assist those 60 and over.

Patrick assists hundreds of residents each year and hopes to connect with community members who can’t easily make the drive to the county office in Eagle River. This one-on-one help is confidential, free and no appointment is necessary, but please be advised that more complex matters may require an appointment.
